Doc lazily swings the barrel of the rifle in the direction of the stairs.

"I'm guessing down there."

Max looks warily toward the staircase and then back to Gringo,

"Alright. Go. Leave town. If we see you knocking around, your amnesty expires. And I think you know that we mean fraggin' business."

The elf gestures to the bloodbath all around them as he finishes his threat.

"Underneath city hall. In the records room. Roman probably has the whole place booby trapped."

Max nods,

"Good to know."

Max turns back to the team and leads,

"So how do we want to do this?"

Gringo pops up the revs and slides the rear of the bike out, pointing its nose at the road leading out.

"If you see Roman, tell him that his gang is finished."

Doc opens up a command console to the Steel Lynx, and guides it in through the west fire exit. Parking the drone at the top of the western stairway, he says to the others,

"Let's head down the east staircase and run a sweep from there. The Lynx will cover the other staircase, in case someone tries to give us the slip."

Max turns back to Gringo and says,

"Don't worry, when we see him that fact will be abundantly clear."

Turning and walking away, Max follows at Doc's side toward the staircase leading to the basement.

Doc stops momentarily at the top of the steps.

"Max, keep your ultrasound running. Might be you can spot a tripwire before anyone else."

Max's keen vision scans his surroundings hard, drinking in every nook and cranny of the team's surroundings as the head very slowly through the potentially booby-trapped structure.

Locking his fingers together, Sinjin extends his hands palms outward in a tight stretch, cracking the joints at the base of his knuckles.

"Well gents, shall we proceed? I wager I'll have no problem ratting out some of these fireworks before you lot manages to step on one."

Doc double checks that the demolitions activesoft is loaded an running, and nods to Sinjin.

"Let's get this done."

The team quietly descends the stair into near darkness. Both ends of the corridor terminate in a junction that leads down a long hallway towards a room jam-packed with filing cabinets and boxes. A trail of blood quite clearly winds its way down the hallway and into the room.

Max approaches the entrance to the room and studies it hard in his search for traps or an ambush.

Peception Test (Max)
[Perception (4) + INT (5) = 3]
4 6 5 4 4 2 6 2 3
Max nearly steps on a trip-wire as he approaches the records room.

Doc sees Max move his foot back, and crouches down to see what caused him to hesitate.

"What is it?"

(( Roll Traps Knowledge to see if Doc can disarm this without setting it off ))

Knowledge (Traps) Test (Doc)
[Traps (2) + LOG (7) + PuShed (1) = 4]
2 2 3 6 5 6 2 1 5 3
Doc visually traces the trip-wire to its point of origin: a system of pulleys that are then branch off and ultimately terminate at detonator caps.

[Demolitions (3) + LOG (7) + PuShed (1) + Edge (2) = 4]
3 4 3 1 1 2 6 1 1 5 5 1 5
Doc creeps under the trip-wire and finds his way to the pulley-box. A single bead of perspiration stands out on his forehead as he locks the pulleys in place. Once confident that they won't trip while he's working, he moves on to each detonator cap and removes the filament, one-by-one. After nearly 5 minutes of intense concentration, Doc heaves a sigh of relief and drops his tools.

Doc wipes the sweat from his face using his sleeve.

"Drek, they weren't fraggin' around with that one. Someone doesn't want to be found.
Well, let's give ourselves a little insurance,"
He says, placing a detonator cap of his own into the charges, and keying it to one of his remotes.

Max steps cautiously over the threshold and feigns obviously false confidence in his teammate,

"'Knew you had it in you, amigo."

Max does a sweep of the room as he looks for signs of life or recent activity.

Doc rolls his eyes,

"Don't see what the big deal was," he jokes.

Max quips back,

"I went through a weird period in school where I shaved my eyebrows--" the elf pauses and looks around the team awkwardly before continuing, "don't ask-- it's not a good look for me."

Sinjin carefully traces the perimeter of the room keeping close to the walls. His brow furrows in concentration as he seeks anomalies in the lay of the floorboards, seeking pressure plates or exposed triggers.

EDIT: If theres a perception roll in play, dont forget my new goggles! :)

The room clear, the team moves forward, sticking to the shadows and attempting to minimize any sound made.

At the rear of the records room is a circular piece of polished steel, approximately 3 meters in diameter. Large hinges border the left side. At the center of the monstrosity is a small touch-screen that glows in near darkness.

A single line of characters is illuminated thereupon...

Doc turns his back to the door and scans the team's flank. He checks the feed from the two drones upstairs, as well as the rover, looking for signs of anyone sneaking up on them.

Val approaches what appears to be a vault door.

"Man... they weren't fraggin' around with this thing."

Val traces a light finger along the border of the touchscreen as he more closely examines the door and its locking mechanism for traps and whether it will require a hack job or a sequencer to crack.

The touch-screen appears to be an older model--logically not connected to a wireless node. It'll require some good old fashioned 'splicin.

Val turns his head and nods to the rest of the team. He unslings his pack and withrdraws his hardware toolkit.

"Here goes, 'manos."

Val sets to work on cracking the lock.

Val inserts his tools into the bezel of the touch-screen and gingerly pops it off. He works his way around the perimeter of the small device, easing it out of its mount. Once wires have been exposed, he attaches the sequencer and begins cracking.
Cracking (3) Test
[Hardware (4) + LOG (6) + Sequencer (3) = 5]
2 3 3 1 5 2 5 2 2 6 4 6 6
The sequencer rotates up a batch of numbers and the screen flashes green. A moment later, the room shakes as a 360 degree array of locks withdrawal from the vault door and allow it to pop ajar.
