Contract #2: Gangland, USA.
Re: Contract #2: Gangland, USA.
Shifting the contents of the bags causes a veritable deluge of carefully wrapped Ameribucks to pour out on to the road.

Val lets out a low whistle and then shakes his head.
"This guy is just full of surprises. Well... was."

Doc picks up one of the stacks, and flips through it with his thumb. He looks at the rest of the team and grins.
"Looks like he wasn't quite as crazy as we thought."
Thumbing the controls on his commlink, he sends the command to the rover to come to their location.

Val rubs his chin.
"So... gang leader uses his manipulative relationship with his brother to neuter the defenses of his hometown, stockpile cash, loot said cash, then stages a sort of philosophical meltdown to fool his subordinates--and the world--that it's gone. He uses a sim-rigged flunky to fake his own death. It all would've worked too, if it weren't for us meddling contractors."

Doc nods,
"Hmm, yeah, Even with the amount of cash they were stealing, it wouldn't have been worth all that trouble to divide it thirty ways. Keeping it for himself, however, would have netted him a tidy profit."
He looks at the approaching Rover.
"Come on, let's take this haul back to the burbclave, and pick up The General and the Lynx. We should probably tell Heckerman that the contract has been completed."
He looks wistfully at the sacks of cash, and says reluctantly,
"And return anything beyond the 250k we're owed. We have a reputation as professionals to maintain."

Max shakes head and says,
"I don't know. It still doesn't seem worth it to geek his entire gang over-- 250,000 nuyen is hardly enough to retire on."

Val sighs and jams a block of 'cash back in the bag.
"Not to mention all those innocent residents. I'm sure they didn't sign off on this."
He cracks a grin.
"Besides, the city will probably need it to pay for the inevitable chip removal surgery."
