Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Adams leans out from cover on Max's signal, and fires a burst at the enforcer on the right.
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
(( For the record, my area jammer isn't rated high enough to cancel the enforcers' ability to call for backup. Nor do you have to 'point' an area jammer. If you require assistance with electronic warfare, please consult your friendly neighborhood decker before helping yourself to his equipment. ))
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
(( Sorry, your friendly neighborhood killing machine wanted to get this show on the road. ))

(( Simple action, ready weapon. ))
He flicks off the safety on his Ares Alpha and fires a burst at Doc.
Ranged Combat (Enforcer 2)
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
(( Seems to me that if they somehow sensed us before we popped out and shot, we should be getting cover modifiers. ))
(( Not if--as in this case--they reacted faster than you. ))

Ranged Combat (Doc)
(( Val's up. ))
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Val presses the butt of his rifle to his shoulder, sights in on Enforcer 1, and depresses the trigger to fire a volley.
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Ranged Combat (Val)
Damage Resistance (Enforcer 1)
Val's burst hits home and the enforcer staggers back, bleeding from several gunshot wounds.
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Val watches his rounds pepper the enforcer. He fires again hoping for a similar effect.

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
The Enforcer grimaces as he pulls up his shotgun and returns fire.

Max recovers from the fumble that cost him the jump on the enforcers, and fires a narrow burst at the uninjured enforcer.

Damage Resistance (Enforcer 2)
Max's first burst rips through the enforcer's torso, shredding his armor like the stuffing in a toy.
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Ranged Combat
(( Sinjin is up, we have one enforcer alive with 6P damage. ))
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Striding forward brazenly, Sinjin's air of nonchalance is decidedly out of place in the midst of the firefight. His mind is preoccupied, replaying the fight with Omega in his minds eye. He, and the others, had held their own against a machine whose strength and agility were beyond metahuman. A machine whose grace and fighting prowess represented the pinnacle of the martial arts, a real life example of what every student of such arts strives for but never actually expects to witness. They are each machines, in a way. Or more aptly, they each share a quest to become the machine; all precision, reflex, power...perfection. But these were just ideological exercises, meditations...not meant to be something tangible and attainable. The encounter had had a near spiritual effect on Sinjin, the repercussions of which would ripple through his conscience for days.
Ignoring the whizzing bullets like so many flies, Sinjin walks defiantly forward to ram a stiffened hand into the throat of the injured enforcer, dejectedly silencing his injury induced whimpering with unabashed disdain.

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
(( Pullitzer material. ))
(( 9P DAMAGE! ))
Sinjin's blow snaps the Enforcer's neck--and ends the fight.

((Dost thou bite thy thumb at me? You guys are crazy. That post was barely coherent! Read it again! I think I repeated words in almost every sentence. Pretty good, for a seventh grader. Yup... Methinks I am being mocked...Buncha jerks.
ps Sinjin hates you ;P ))

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Max steps aggressively forward into the carpark as he reloads Marlowe, performing a quick check of the enforcers for any security clearance items that might prove useful in the team's escape. Gesturing around, Max says,
"Lead the way, doctor. Val, hook us into a vehicle."
"Lead the way, doctor. Val, hook us into a vehicle."
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Val retrieves the useless area jammer from the parking lot floor, deactivates it, and returns it to his pack.
"You know, 'mano, an occasional 'please' wouldn't fragging kill you."
Following Dr. Takahara, Val swivels his head left and right, looking for a vehicle with adequate mass, suspension, and seating room, and preferrably some modicum of armor.

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Max slaps the decker on the back, and says in good humor,
"No, but it might kill you."

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Val keeps looking for a suitable getaway vehicle.
"Better than killing us all," he grumbles.

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
After a bit of scouring, the team locates a GMC Bulldog. The Rover it ain't--but it'll do.
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Val approaches the GMC Bulldog. He makes a quick circuit of the vehicle, directs an experimental kick at one of the tires, and nods.
"Well, I was hoping for an APC, but I guess this will have to do."
Val calls up an AR window and brings the GMC's node into view. Val begins probing the firewall while assembling a false set of credentials that might grant him a subscription to the node.
(( Am I correct in assuming I will only need a user-level account to unlock the doors and start the engine? In this case, its kinda similar to telling a coffeemaker to brew coffee... If i do need higher credentials, however, please apply the appropriate threshold modifer for a security account. ))

Hack on the Fly Test (3) (Val)
Alpha cocks his head.
"There are several platoons converging on our location. I suggest we make a hasty retreat."
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Snapping out of his reverie at the sound of an engine turning over, Sinjin takes a cue from Val and climbs inside the pirated vehicle. Having no guns, and therefore no use for a window to dangle a weapon through, he climbs into the middle seat and buckles in.

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Adams hops in the driver's seat. He thinks back to the explosive brick wedged in the hydrogen containers.
"Takahara, is there any chance Mitsuhama could replicate your work?" He asks the scientist.
"We have one last chance to, um, erase the laboratories before we leave."

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Tyros pushes Takahara into the vehicle and climbs in after him, taking the window seat and blocking the doctor from gunfire with his girth.
"Blow the place, Doc. Let's take no chances and now is a great time for a diversion."

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
Max climbs in the front passenger seat to appropriately ride shotgun.

Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
"Agreed," Adams says, thumbing the detonator.
Re: Contract #3: I, Robot?
A muffled sound and a slight vibration, followed by a rain of grit marks the explosion in the hydrogen storage area. After triggering the blast, Doc throws the Bulldog into gear and burns rubber, peeling out across the employee parking lot. A few terrified wage-slaves leap out of the rampaging van's path as the team careens down the exit ramp. It's not until the bottom that they encounter the first group of enforcers.
