Doc swings the bulldog hard hard left into a parking spot surrounded by other vehicles along the wall.

"We've got to get that gate open! Use the vehicles as cover!" He shouts. He throws the door open, and hops out, taking cover behind a family station wagon.

Tyros doesn't feel like leaving the car, and even invisible, opening the cardoor might attract some gunfire, and the last thing they need is a dead Takahara. Then who would pay them?

With a flick of his wrist (centering), Tyros send a ball of glowing yellow energy zipping into Enforcer #1 (manaball, f6).

"I'M GONNA SHOW YOU YOUR FRAGGIN' INSIDES, DREKBAG!"

Nobody on the team has any reason to doubt Max's promise.

Max huddles behind the door in the GM and looks at Takahara, cowering in the backseat. The small Japanese scientist is shaking in fear. Max reaches a hand out and pats him on the shoulder, reassuring him,

"We're almost home, doctor! Just keep your head down!"

Redirecting, Max cocks his face toward the blown out window and shouts out,

"YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO DO A LOT BETTER THAN THAT, YOU SON OF A SLITCH!"

The bullets continue to fly. The inside of the car is dashed with an unimaginable smattering of safety glass-- tiny pebbles that look like reflective confetti.

Val's hand goes involuntarily to his side as a flap of his open coat whips away from his body, an almost-well-placed round having caught the whiskered Kevlar weave. He grits his teeth and growls over the sound of shredding metal as three more rounds tear into the Nissan which currently serves its role as his tenuous salvation. Val dives alongside the front bumper, falling prone on the opposite side of the car, lines up a shot on his grand nemesis of the last few seconds, and squeezes the trigger twice.
